Uriah Kim
Professor of Hebrew Bible

The first time I entered the Richard Meier-designed building of Hartford Seminary, I knew I had stepped into a different kind of space, a site where a different kind of theological education can take place. Hartford Seminary’s commitment to dialogue across religions and cultures and to bridge the gap between academia and the world at large is a mission that is urgently needed in theological education. Its task matters in a rapidly changing world that is embroiled in misunderstanding and hostility. The interaction between individuals from different religious, faith, and cultural backgrounds takes place everyday at the Seminary in a cordial manner, making concrete what is possible for the world. I knew I was in for a treat the minute I entered this community; now I know why.
