The policies that are specific to the Professional Ministries Study Program are below. Please also see the Academic Policies for Graduate Programs.

Grading System

Students in the Professional Ministries Study Program will be graded as follows: High Pass, Pass, Low Pass, and Fail. Students who receive two “Low Pass” grades or below will be evaluated by the Academic Affairs Committee to determine their suitability for continuing in the program. The enrollment of any Professional Ministries Study Program student receiving two “Fail” grades shall be terminated. 

Graduation

Upon completion of the program a Certificates will be awarded at Hartford Seminary’s annual graduation ceremony in June. (Please see academic calendar for exact date.)

On-Campus Classroom Requirement

Hartford Seminary requires that at least 6 credits of the 12 required credits for the Professional Ministries Study Program be taken in courses taught in the classroom on the Hartford Seminary campus.  This allows for up to half of the credits required for this program to be taken in a combination of the following formats:  off-site courses, on-line courses, and travel seminars.
