In a shattered and frightened world searching for a ‘Security Architecture,’ “A Common Word,” stemming from a massive Muslim consensus, and greeted by a massive Christian consensus, is a solid foundation for jointly building an alternative ‘Compassion Architecture’.  This lecture will explore the theological presuppositions, intentions, and implications of “A Common Word,” and build on them. An outline of a Theology of Compassionate Neighborliness is then offered for the sake of living together - in love of God and love of neighbor.
