Doing Digital Work in a Spiritual World
CANCELED
Saturday, October 20, 2007
Time: 1 PM to 4 PM
Location: Hartford Seminary, 77 Sherman St., Hartford
ONLINE: October 22-26
Join us for a special in-person and online workshop that will help you improve your congregation or community website. Learn how to integrate digital tools and concepts to develop and enhance your ministries. The Saturday session will be hands-on, and include practical activities that teach “Digital Design.” Participants will walk away with valuable tools and strategies for going back to their congregations and knowing how to begin establishing a website or improve the one they currently have.
The Monday through Friday course will cover 1) an overview of Internet use by churches 2) getting members into a database and using it 3) integrating today’s digital tools (such as iPods and Podcasting) into web sites 4) reducing committee time and getting more done using list serves, boards and blogs and 5) online classrooms for education, youth projects, and keeping up with college students.
The course will introduce the topics, provide resources, offer suggestions and show examples of what other churches are doing to make their ministries stronger and more effective by using technological advances. We suggest teams from churches enroll rather than a single person.
Discounts are offered for teams.
