MIRIAM
THERESE WINTER
I
have always loved to read, both factual books and fiction.
Fortunately, preparing bibliographies for my seminary courses
means I will not outgrow that passion. Still, if I were to select
one book that has been particularly influential in shaping the way
I think and respond, I would choose the book of life, a book that
has no covers and will remain forever unbound. Here is the
quintessential story of God with us and within us, revealing to us
an abiding presence throughout our created universe and the
galaxies beyond. One of my songs expresses it this way: “Faith
moves mountains, transcending creeds. The Word within words is
embodied in deeds. Fear for the future finds hope in the past, for
love was the first word, it’s surely the last.” |
