Hartford Seminary has organized a virtual blood drive to remember the life of a beloved student, Joshua Wayne Eargle, 23, who died unexpectedly in July 2019. Students will also hold a memorial chapel at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to celebrate his life.
Joshua was a full-time student at Hartford Seminary in our Master of Arts in Religious Studies program. As an adult, he made a commitment to give blood every month and was proud to have donated over a gallon.
To honor that commitment, Hartford Seminary is asking Joshua’s wonderfully diverse family and friends to support a blood drive in their community any time between Nov. 1, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2019. Please make an appointment to donate blood via the link below so that your donation can be listed as a memorial gift in Joshua’s name. Students, staff, faculty, and friends in Hartford, as well as Joshua’s immediate family, will be participating in a blood drive at UConn School of Law on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, following the chapel service. The UConn Law School blood drive is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on that day.
Blood donors help patients of all ages with all different kinds of needs, and one donation can potentially save up to three lives. A single car accident victim, for example, can require as many as 100 pints of blood. Your donation is a priceless gift that will honor Joshua’s memory.
If you live in an area that does not use the Red Cross to collect blood, you can still donate through this virtual blood drive. Please contact Peter Boucher of the Red Cross (Peter.Boucher@redcross.org) with any questions, and thank you!
