Connecticut teachers and teachers-in-training are invited to this daylong workshop to gain resources and insights into teaching about the Middle East, one of the most critical regions in the world, to multi-cultural, multi-religious students.
Participating institutions are Hartford Seminary, the University of Hartford, Central Connecticut State University, the University of Connecticut and the University of Saint Joseph. In addition to three breakout sessions, teachers will attend a pedagogy session on how to align their teaching with the Common Core, as well as a keynote session by filmmaker Ben Loeterman, who will speak about his movie “1913: Seeds of Conflict.”

Registration must be submitted by April 29. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
The workshop costs $40, and includes a Kosher and Halal lunch. The fee is waived for students with valid university ID.
