Panel Discussion: Shari’Ah and Halakhah in History and Intellectual Thought

Please join us to hear a fascinating panel discussion involving Issam Michael Saliba, legal expert on Islamic law at the Law Library of Congress, Rabbi Schlomo Yaffe, Dean of the Institute of American and Talmudic Law, and Umar Moghul, Attorney, Hartford Seminary Trustee and Lecturer in Law at the University of Connecticut Law School.

Issam Michael Saliba is the recognized expert on Islamic law and the laws of Middle Eastern and North African countries at the Law Library of Congress. He provides legal advice in these areas to the U.S. Congress, executive branch, and judiciary. In this capacity, Mr. Saliba has testified before the U.S. Congress on such issues as the Iraqi constitution and the laws on oil and gas production agreements.

Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe is Dean of the Institute of American and Talmudic Law in New York, NY, and director of the Institute for Judaic Knowledge based in Newton, MA. Rabbi Yaffe has lectured and led seminars throughout North America, as well as in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
