Qohelet (Ecclesiastes) on the Spirituality of Breathing

Please join us as Theodore A. Perry, Faculty Associate in Jewish Scriptures, shares his expertise in Ecclesiastes:

“In his book Qohelet (Ecclesiastes), King Solomon has called human existence a ?Vanity of vanities,? an interpretation that has been supportive of countless world hatreds while disfiguring Judaism beyond recognition. By focusing on the spirituality of both words and breathing, I shall try to return Solomon?s teachings to the centrality of joyous living.”

Prof. Perry has published and taught prolifically in comparative literature, the Hebrew Bible as literature, medieval Sephardic (Spanish Jewish) and Spanish literature, religious studies, paremiology, and 16th-century French literature.
